What does the job consist?:
When we write on our website “we invest on average 12% of our annual turnover in R&D and have a portfolio of more than 4,200 patents” you begin to measure the importance of Industrial Property (IP) in a company like ours.
To support our growth, we must strengthen our industrial protections and for this William, our IP Director, wishes to strengthen his team with a new Senior Patent Engineer who, with the other patent engineers of the IP team and the IP assistants, will work daily with our 200 inventors.
Within this multidisciplinary team, you have full responsibility for one or more patent portfolios in which you manage your files with complete autonomy: from the analysis of invention submissions to the drafting of patents, the processing of deposits and the management of examination procedures with IP offices in different countries directly or through our patent firms.You are also responsible for reviewing and enhancing this portfolio or participating in the management of potential disputes relating to it, all in close collaboration with management and the Businesses concerned.
In this job, you will deal with various topics of Industrial Property beyond the protection of inventions on our products of tomorrow, in particular by participating with the Legal Department in the drafting of IP contracts (licenses, co-ownerships, assignments, R&D agreements, NDAs), but also by carrying out studies of freedoms of exploitation, legal opinions, opposition procedures or by participating in the monitoring of competing patents.
Our team is structured at the pace of Soitec's growth and this position addresses the functions of deputy director of IP or manager of part of the team.
Requirements & qualifications:
Pour ce poste et pour compléter les compétences déjà présentes, il vous faudra le CEIPI avec une qualification à l’EQE et posséder une spécialisation technique dans le domaine de la microélectronique et des matériaux semi-conducteurs ou en physique des matériaux.
Vous avez une expérience d’au moins 15 ans comme Ingénieur.e. Brevets, avec une expérience technique préalable dans le domaine de la microélectronique ou de la physique de matériaux. Vous pouvez aussi bien venir d’un autre milieu industriel ou d’un cabinet de PI, à condition d’avoir envie de découvrir nos produits et nos technologies.
