Senior Global Product Manager, Cosmetic Ingredients (m/w/d)

Symrise is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Product Manager to lead and manage our innovative cosmetic ingredient Micro Protection range. This role encompasses business development, strategic planning, and project management, and includes overseeing a junior Product Manager.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the cosmetic industry, particularly in the area of preservatives, and possess strong leadership and communication skills.

Tasks

Your Main Responsibilities
  • Product Portfolio Management:
-Develop and implement long-term strategy and annual operational plans.
  • Monitor and report sales figures, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Stay abreast of cosmetic market trends to support product range growth.
  • Develop and execute communication strategies, particularly on social medias, to showcase Symrise’s expertise.
  • Product Development and Coordination:
  • Lead projects to develop new products and enhance existing ones.
-Address day-to-day portfolio-related requests from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Sales, R&D, Raw Material Management, Regulatory, Product Safety, Patent, Production, Planning, Quality Control, and other departments.
  • Manage technical projects at various customer sites in collaboration with sales teams and testing laboratories.
  • Marketing and Communication:
  • Create relevant product information documents such as brochures, presentations, quick sheets, and advertisements in coordination with the marketing team.
  • Conduct customer and congress presentations to promote the product range.
-Engage in technology scouting, particularly in anti-microbial agents.
  • Technical Studies Coordination:
-Coordinate preservative efficacy tests (PET) and other studies such as biofilm activity, minimum inhibitory concentration, and time-kill tests with micro laboratories.
  • Oversee studies to enhance the value of existing ingredients beyond their antimicrobial properties.
  • Team Management:
  • Manage and mentor a junior Product Manager.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.

Requirements

About You

The ideal candidate should hold a high level Degree in Chemical Science, with additional qualifications in marketing or business management being advantageous. They should have significant years of experience in the cosmetic industry, with particular expertise in preservatives used in personal care products.
Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is essential, along with strong IT skills, particularly in MS-Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). The candidate must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling them to work effectively in multicultural teams within an international environment.

Additionally, they should have a proven track record in managing multiple and complex technical projects efficiently.
