d2m Services is looking for a Superintendent HVAC – Marine for its client, a leading shipowner. This key position is responsible for the proactive development and management of HVAC technologies for new vessels, ensuring compliance with design criteria and operational requirements throughout the ship’s lifecycle.

• Leads the development of HVAC technologies, collaborating with existing and potential suppliers, system designers, and marine operations teams to integrate innovative solutions into future shipbuilding projects.
• Conducts studies and provides recommendations for HVAC equipment and design solutions, ensuring alignment with operational requirements and industry standards.
• Manages and updates technical guidelines for HVAC systems, ensuring consistency across all projects and compliance with regulations.
• Participates in risk assessments and feasibility studies to evaluate new HVAC technologies and ensure their practical application in marine environments.
• Ensures compliance with maritime regulations (SOLAS, IMO, etc.) in the design and construction of HVAC systems, including the evaluation and integration of new technologies.
• Oversees and reports on HVAC design and development processes, ensuring optimal performance and long-term efficiency.
• Develops life cycle cost (LCC) procedures, analyzing costs from design to operation to maximize value and minimize expenses.
• Participates in inspections and factory acceptance tests (FATs), ensuring HVAC systems meet design specifications and perform as required.
• Reviews and approves new build drawings and works with shipyards and design teams to ensure technical accuracy.
• Prepares and updates vessel specifications, incorporating feedback from internal and external partners.
• Integrates lessons learned and innovations from the existing fleet into future projects for continuous improvement.

Requirements

Experience: Proven expertise in designing and managing HVAC systems in the maritime sector.

Key Skills:

• Strong knowledge of international regulations (SOLAS, IMO).
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently.
• Leadership skills and experience in cross-functional team management.
• Fluency in written and spoken English (additional languages are a plus).
• Proficiency in design software and IT tools.
• Frequent international travel required.
