Solar Asset Manager Bordeaux
About the Role
A leading partner in the renewable energy sector, playing a key role in the energy transition, is looking for a Solar Asset Manager. Reporting to the Asset Management Lead, the Solar Asset Manager will oversee all aspects related to the operation and maintenance of a portfolio of solar assets.
The primary objective is to ensure the operational and financial performance of the assets while maximizing their long-term value. The candidate will also ensure that these assets comply with contractual obligations and regulatory standards.
Main Responsabilities :
Supervision and Asset Performance:
- Manage a portfolio of solar plants (regular travel required).
- Maximize the production and revenue of the plants to meet or exceed financial targets, reduce downtime, and optimize efficiency.
- Use key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor plant performance and resolve issues on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Calculate and analyze plant losses over various periods (daily, weekly, monthly) and implement corrective action plans.
Operational and Contractual Management:
- Supervise Operation and Maintenance (O&M) contractors and external consultants.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations during operations.
- Manage contracts related to asset operation, including Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).
- Follow up on construction-related punch list items.
- Coordinate with stakeholders such as electricity buyers, grid operators, landowners, local authorities, and lenders.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Implement necessary measures to ensure regulatory compliance of the assets.
Budget Management and Reporting:
- Prepare budget forecasts for operation and maintenance activities and update them based on actual results.
- Produce operation and maintenance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Incident Management:
- Report and follow up on insurance claims in the event of incidents.
- Initiate claims against contractors or manufacturers when necessary.
Support for New Projects:
- Assist the Development team in defining operation and maintenance solutions for future projects.
Education: Degree in engineering (process, civil, mechanical, electrical, or environmental). A qualification in project or business management would be an advantage.
Experience: At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, ideally in the renewable energy sector, with a focus on solar energy.
Technical Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of solar plants and associated electrical infrastructure.
- Strong analytical and technical innovation capabilities.
- Proven experience in contract management and understanding of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements.
Computer Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Office tools.
- Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Personal Qualities:
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to supervise teams effectively.
- Autonomy and ability to manage large responsibilities.
- Strong communication skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders.
Languages and License:
- Fluency in English (spoken and written).
- Valid French driving license required.
